For many people, (myself included), just a small detail can set you on edge. These details are known to the public as pet peeves. Oftentimes, our actions result in certain pet peeves to the people around you. For example, if you had just gotten off work and you were rushing home, a particularly slow-walking person would create the pet peeve of slow walkers. I have noticed a few of these details that are just so awful and outlandish that I just had to call them out.
Number 1: Ear talking. When someone is sitting in that perfectly annoying position, and they do the only thing that could possibly annoy you more. Talk right into your ear. The worst thing, though, is when they aren’t even talking to you. It is impossible to not be uncomfortable when this happens. As if this couldn’t get worse, bad breath takes the cake.
Number 2: Hugging. Now, don’t get me wrong, a grandma’s hug is tolerable. But when that co-worker or friend-of-my-friend embraces you, nothing could be more awkward. Maybe it’s natural for some people, but not for me. It honestly annoys me so much, that I am willing to hide behind a tree or garbage can and say my daily hellos from there.
Number 3: The radio. Of course I like music, but when you pass into that unexpected dead zone, a warm welcome of static is all you hear. That’s not the worst part; the static is louder than the song itself. I would understand such a thing if static was an advertisement, but it’s not. “For a limited time only, 20% off of static! Hurry in before it’s too late! Comes in all sizes! Found only at StaticWares.inc. Don’t forget, StaticWares.inc. Fun to play with, not to eat.”
With all due respect to StaticWares.inc, I would much rather stop at PetPeeveResolutions.com and buy the store out. Sorry, but to me, there is no such thing as a useful bottle o’ static, not to mention a not awkward hug, or quiet ear talker. Still, it’s worth a shot. How much for a static-canceler?
